A PALLET BED FOR OUR EXCHANGE STUDENT!

Thursday, June 28, 2012

My husband and I haven’t invested in a lot of furniture since we got married. When we do invest in furniture it is a really big deal! A lot of what we have in our home we have found on the side of the road for free or I have found it at an antique store. The collection  is very eclectic, which I do appreciate.

We decided to host a foreign exchange student from Spain for about four weeks. The only bed we own is our own, so I knew we were going to have to find one for her during her stay. While searching on Pinterest I came across a bed that I loved. The bed  was made from recycled pallets and I thought we could definately make that. I showed my husband and he was on it. The next day he came home with a car load of pallets he found at a local hardware store for free!

He put two pallets together and attached four swivel wheels on the bottom of each corner. I stained the wood with a white color. Then we just put a single mattress on top!

Now we have a fun little bed for our exchange student Irene!

HERE is the image that inspired me from Pinterest.

I love how simple this bed is, and it is great for a guest room. Thanks Pinterest!!
